Since its original publication in 1920, numerous adaptations of The Age of Innocence have been made, including:
- A 1924 silent film by Warner Brothers.
- A 1928 play by Margaret Ayer Barnes, first produced on Broadway.
- A 1934 eponymous film by Philip Moeller (based upon the 1920 novel and 1928 play).
- Most famously, a 1993 eponymous film, The Age of Innocence, by Martin Scorsese. Winona Ryder won a Golden Globe Award for her portrayal of May Welland Archer, and the film won an Oscar for costume design.
